Mimi

My name is Mimi Soames.

My old family moved away and could not take me with them, so HAWS found out about me and took me away to care for me. I spent 3 months with lovely foster parents then my new mum saw me on the HAWS website and thought we would suit each other, so I came to live here in my new home.

I’m very brave and quite confident, and I settled in really well. I was a little bit wary at first but I’m so nosy that I have to explore everything, and know what’s going on all the time. There are lots of comfy places to sleep here and my favourite is on the bed. I’ve got a lovely basket of toys and I do sometimes have a few “mad moments “ but I prefer to be with people. My mum says I’m the “dearest little thing“, except when I use the stair carpet to sharpen my claws and leave woolly blobs everywhere!

She bought me a special scratching post and sprinkled it with catnip to encourage me to use it, but it just encouraged me to do a bit of pole dancing on it and still not use my claws!

It’s been an exciting week as I’m now allowed out in the garden, all those new smells and sounds, although I do prefer to be with my people when I’m exploring.

The kitchen doors are open all day as it’s summer so I can come and go whenever I feel like it.

It’s lovely, I think this place will do
