Dumped Kittens

In a bin. In a skip. In a box on the pavement.

These are just some of the places kittens have been unceremoniously dumped, before being found and taken into our care.

More kittens are being dumped than ever before. And, no doubt, there are others, who haven’t been found. How do people who do this, sleep at night?

The colleague of a volunteer found a Whiskas cat food box with a very young kitten inside it, in the bin store of their block of flats. Later that same day a further 4 more kittens were found actually inside one of the huge bins in the same store room. One of our volunteers went to pick them up and bring them into our care, where they thrived with love, care and a little bit of bottle feeding to start with. We have since found them all loving homes.

Just a couple of days later the same volunteer was called to help with another case, this time of 4 kittens dumped on top of a full rubbish skip. We collected the kittens but sadly one of them died a day or two later. The others have been fostered and have done well and 2 of them have also now gone to their forever home.

Then we had a call from one of our vets about 2 young adult cats and 5 kittens found dumped in a cardboard box. All 7 are doing really well in a foster home and you can see them on our website as the Cheese Kittens plus Mummy Brie and Auntie Edam.
