Amy (F) HC1701

Age: 10 years
Must be homed with Pepe

Pepe and Amy are senior cats who came to live with us when their owner became too ill to care for them. They came from a  very quiet, single adult home and so will need to go to a calm and quiet, adult-only home. They are indoor cats so they will not require a garden.  They are very shy and do not like to be picked up but they are good companions and enjoy being in the room with us when we work, read or watch tv. It has taken some time but now they jump up on the bed, ready to greet us when we wake up and follow us up to sleep in their beds when we retire at the end of the day. They do not need much attention and are happy to have cat naps and play with their toys.

Amy is a beautiful, long haired tortoiseshell. She is a super, super, shy scaredy cat but she will join Pepe when he sits with us. She enjoys being stroked and when she feels like it, she might give the lucky person a cat massage. She likes to play and will run and jump to catch her toys.

SHE MUST BE HOMED WITH PEPE

Both cats are neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden not essential
  • Quiet home required
  • Amy has been neutered and microchipped
  • Wider coverage area considered

Whisper (F) HC3212

Age: 6 years

This litte female was part of a stray colony and our intention was to neuter and put her back but after a couple of days at the vets they realised she isn't feral just a little timid but friendly so it wouldn't be right to put her back.

The vet nurses called her Whisper as she's very quiet.  She will probably need a quiet adult only home where she can flourish and ideally to be homed with her friend Belle who is in the same foster home.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Quiet home required
  • Whisper has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Myrtle (F) HC3232

Age: 6 years
Myrtle's story
Well we started in our own commune, we had lots of babies and eventually there were too many of us.  That's when HAWS came along and collected us in small groups.  Myrtle (that's me) and Beauty went first and had our kittens, the kittens have all been adopted as they were all cute.  Beauty was adopted and that left me - I was lonely and miserable, one day Nicola who looked after me and my five kittens moved me and  I met up with five of my cousins or they may possibly be my brothers and sister I really can't remember.  One thing about us is we are all shy and nervous but we do love dinner and treat time, at night we move our beds around the room to confuse Nicola in the morning.  We are all black except Mog who is black and white, the rest of us do have little white hidden markings, mine Is on my  tum.  Let me introduce you there is Little one she is small and cute, we have William he is the biggest, Munro who is the middle one and Midge!  Myself and Little One are the ladies the rest are gents!!  I can't tell you how long it took me to get everybody in one place and to make them sit still for a photo !!!

  • Garden required
  • Myrtle has been neutered, microchipped and has started vaccinations

Belle (F) HC3244

Age: 7 years

  • OK with older children
  • Garden required
  • Belle has been neutered, microchipped and has started vaccinations

Luna (F) HC4467

Age: 4 years

"My name is Luna and I’m a gorgeous 3 year old girl with a luxuriously soft and thick black coat that you want to pet for days.

As I haven’t had the best of luck with my previous humans I do have trust issues and it takes me a bit of time to settle down in a new place and get used to people. I don’t get on well with other pets or children as they scare me. I really just need my vey own loving and patient hooman who’s willing to give me the time, space and care I need to build up my confidence and trust.

I’ve been with my foster momma for 3 months and although I’m still not confident enough to ask for cuddles I do let her pick me up and pet me for a while cause I know she likes it so much. I kinda like it too but don’t tell her that or she’ll be doing it all the time! I’m a cat after all and have a reputation to maintain!! I’m very independent and adventurous so a kitty door and safe access to outside is essential "

Luna is neutered and up to date with her vaccinatons.  She also has a pet passport as she's been to Spain before.

  • OK with older children
  • Garden required
  • Luna has been neutered

Skippy (F) HC4486

Age: 17 months
Must be homed with Hopper

We probably should have called Skippy Juliet and her boyfriend Hopper Romeo. They came into our care separately and Skippy had been living outside longer than Hopper  Hopper was the most confident and because Skippy was very timid we thought that putting them together would help her. This has worked well and Skippy loves to play with Oscar and can match his energy. They love each other and Skippy follows Hopper everywhere.  Skippy still remains a litte wary of humans (unless food is involved) but her confidence has increased dramatically in foster care.

We couldn't bear to part them so Skippy and Hopper must be homed together.  Skippy is the one at the back of the photo.

Skippy and Hoper would suit a home with enough space for them to retreat to for naps and would enjoy a secure garden to explore and play in.

Please don't apply to adopt them if you are outside our catchment area or don't have access to a garden

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Skippy has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Lesley (F) HC4511

Age: 12 months
Lesley is related to Delilah

Lesley is a small bundle of energy. She is very affectionate and will enjoy sitting on your lap once she gets to know you. She's got a good appetite and loves playing with her toys. She likes the other cats in the house but she will initially be timid with people she doesn't know.

Lesley must be homed with her sister Delilah. Her foster family is a single person household with three resident cats, so she is looking for a similar household with one or two adults, and maybe a resident cat wanting some new friends.

Lesley is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Quiet home required
  • Lesley has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated
  • Wider coverage area considered

Hopper (M) HC4513

Age: 14 months
Must be homed with Skippy

Hopper is a curious and friendly young cat who loves to play and is looking for a home he can settle down in.   He loves to follow you around the  house calmly, enjoying a good stroke, with an hour or so of energetic playng throughout the day.

We probably should have called Hopper 'Romeo' and his girlfriend Skippy 'Juliet'.  They came into our care separately and Hopper was paired with Skippy who had spent longer living outside and so was more wary.   So to build her confidence we thought that putting them together would help her and this has worked well.   They love each other and Skippy follows Hopper everywhere.

Hopper and Skippy are neutered and fully vaccinated.  Hopper is the one in the front of the photo.

They would suit a home with enough space for them to retreat for naps and would enjoy a secure garden to explore

We couldn't bear to part them so Hopper and Skippy must be homed together

Please don't apply to adopt them if you are outside our catchment area or don't have access to a garden.

  • Garden required
  • Hopper has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Selkie (F) HC4535

Age: 2 years

Selkie was rescued from an abandoned  car in a car park and moved to a foster home at the beginning of November with her kittens who have all been adopted

Selkie is a sleek, elegant, coal-black young cat.   She is thought to be just over a year old.

She has a calm nature, enjoying being stroked and often responding verbally.  She would make a lovely pet where someone would like a quieter but affectionate cat.

Selkie is fully vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped.  Probably best suited to a adult only home.

  • Garden required
  • Selkie has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Pepe (M) HC4543

Age: 16 years
Must be homed with Amy

Pepe and Amy are senior cats who came to live with us when their owner became too ill to care for them. They came from a  very quiet, single adult home and so will need to go to a calm and quiet, adult-only home. They are indoor cats so they will not require a garden.  They are very shy and do not like to be picked up but they are good companions and enjoy being in the room with us when we work, read or watch tv. They do not need much attention and are happy to have cat naps and play with their toys.

Pepe is a strong and handsome tuxedo cat. .  He is very shy and timid but once he settles down, he is a lovely cat.  When he first arrived, he hid in the bedroom and we would find him under the table, shelves,  duvet and even in the pillowcase! It took him a few weeks to adjust to his new surroundings and trust us but it was certainly worth the wait.  He has turned into the most wonderful lap cat who will purr and allow us to stroke him for hours.

He must be homed with Amy.

Both cats are neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden not essential
  • Quiet home required
  • Pepe has been neutered, microchipped and has started vaccinations

Binx (M) HC4544

Age: 19 months

Binx was handed into one of our local vets as a supposed stray.  However he is such a friendly boy we think it was probably their own cat.  He is now in a foster home and this is what his fosterers say about him.

Binx is a handsome fluffy black boy.  He's doing well and we really enjoy his company. He's a very chilled cat and quite lazy. He is clean and well behaved, using the scratcher, the litter tray, etc. He doesn't  "talk" much, and he likes some petting, but does not enjoy being held (unless he is very hungry). He plays a bit, he likes the red laser and catnip hidden in a toy, but when he's had enough  flops on the floor.  He will follow you anytime you visit the kitchen; he thinks he might get some food.

He would probably be best suited to an adult home who wants a well behaved and chilled out cat.

Binx has been neutered, micro-chipped and started his vaccinations

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OUR CATCHMENT AREA OR DON'T HAVE A PRIVATE GARDEN

  • Garden required
  • Binx has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Missy (F) HC4548

Age: 9 years

Missy is a really pretty, long haired, mature, tabby girl who who was reported to us a stray.  It turned out that Missy left home when her previous owner got a puppy, so we are therefore looking for a new home for her without dogs.

We also think that Missy might prefer to be an only cat.  Certainly she seems to enjoy a home that can provide her with peace and quiet, probably with a single person or couple and no young children.

As she is long haired she is going to need regular brushing to keep fur matting at bay.  Fortunately she really loves the brushing.

Missy has been in her foster home for just a week and is currently practising social distancing.  She says hello to her fosterer in the morning and then goes about her playing business independently.  She is becoming more confident in her new surroundings as each day passes.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Quiet home required
  • Missy has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated
  • Wider coverage area considered

Cookie (M) HC4576

Age: 3 years

Cookie is a three year old handsome boy with unusual colouring.

He is an independent cat and quite affectionate but doesn't like to be over-petted so best suited to an adult only home .

He recently used up a couple of his nine lives as he was hit by a car.  Fortunately he has made an excellent and complete recovery.  We are now looking for a home for him on a very safe road and with a large garden for him to explore.  For this reason we are happy to take applications from outside our usual catchment area to find him the perfect home.

He wouldn't be happy to live in a home with other pets although he can sometimes make friends with others outside.

Cookie has been neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped and is ready for his new home.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Quiet home required
  • Cookie has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated
  • Wider coverage area considered

Penny (F) HC4589

Age: 19 months

Penny came into our care with her four kittens a few months ago. Initially she was nervous, and understandably protective over her 2 week old  kittens. But as they grew, so did her confidence.

This is what her foster home says about her.

She will lick food from your fingers, and if you are lucky you can get a little head stroke in at the same time. She will happily trot around, and is particularly fascinated by the smells that come down the (blocked up) chimney.

When our next set of unrelated kittens came in she had a few lovely conversations with them through their pen, so I think she would be fine with another cat who could help her learn confidence with humans. She also happily lays next to my 3 house rabbits.

If someone had the time to befriend her I think she has the makings of a loyal pet. A quiet adult home would be best for her.

Penny has been spayed, vaccinated and miro-chipped.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Quiet home required
  • Penny has been neutered, microchipped and has started vaccinations

Eponine (F) HC4596

Age: 17 months

Eponine has been a wonderful mum to her two kittens Leon and Ellie. She is a gorgeous black cat with striking green eyes and a beautiful soft coat. Her striking looks are matched with a beautiful temperament.   She loves being brushed and groomed.  It's hard to see in the small photos but she has impressive whiskers and a sprinkling of white hairs on her chest.

She would make a lovely, gentle companion, who likes to be stroked and is quite vocal with her gentle miaows. In the evenings she likes to lay down next to you and watch TV.   Her foster mum feels she will blossom in an adult household.

Eponine has been spayed, started her vaccinations and been micro-chipped.

  • Adult only home required
  • Garden required
  • Eponine has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

Lulu (F) HC4645

Age: 16 weeks
Lulu is related to Shadow Inky Leo

Four little scaredy kittens arrived in their foster home about 8-9 weeks old - three (almost!) identical black boys and their feisty black and white sister.  They all love playing with toys, chasing each other and tolerating visiting adults and toddlers, although their best fun of all is trying and failing to catch the occasional fly who has the temerity to enter their home.

Lulu (who must go with Inky or Leo) is still a bit scared of humans and doesn't like to be held, although will happily curl round legs and purr when food is being offered!

She is fully vaccinated and microchipped

  • Lulu has been microchipped and has started vaccinations

Coco was the first of the litter to come for a cuddle, he loves strokes and purrs a lot. He has settled in very quickly and is not nervous. He likes to sleep out in the open and is happy to be picked up.

He would make a great pair with his sister (Coffee) who is more shy but loves to play with her brother. His fur colour is very unique, although he appears to be a black cat, in the sunshine he is a warm chocolate black, hence the name Coco
