Cats & kittens

Rehoming list

An up-to-date list of cats and kittens looking for a new home can be found below.

Please consider an older cat as they are often calmer, gentler, loving and more grateful. Black or black and white cats and kittens are nearly always overlooked so please also take this into account. All our cats are vaccinated and neutered as soon as they are old enough. They will also receive flea/worm treatments before going to their new home.

Tia (F) HC4381

Age: 21 months

Tia came into our care recently due to a change in her owner's circumstances.  She is a sweet and friendly little girl but can be a little shy with people she doesn't know but this will change once she feels secure and settled in her new home.  She is very partial to catnip so  some catnip toys would make her feel at home when she is adopted.

She would be fine for a family with older children say 8 years and above  as she can nip if she get's excited.    She would be equally happy in an adult only home and would like a secure garden to investigate

Tia is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date with her vaccinations.

Mog (F) HC4437

Age: 8 months
Mog is related to Sparkle
Must be homed with Sparkle

Mog and Sparkle were born outside to a feral mother, they have made progress in their foster home. This is what they say about them

Sparkle is very friendly and will sit on the sofa with us.  She is very outgoing and will make a lovely companion.  Mog is very much an independent cat but will follow Sparkle so I think she will be fine, but someone will have to be patient  with her until they have gained her trust.  She won't be picked up but I can touch her.

They are great fun and will be a lovely pair for the right person. Probably best in a quieter adult home.

They are both fully vaccinated and have been micro-chipped and spayed.

MOG AND SPARKLE MUST BE HOMED TOGETHER.

Billie (F) HC4483

Age: 6 months
Billie is related to Ella

Billie's birthday is the 9th of July 2020. Billie is the sister of Ella.

Billie or Billie Boom, Billie The Bulldozer - She is something else! A confident little tigress, she is fearless. She jumps, climbs, rolls, explores, terrorises! She is a delight to watch and to play with. She has a lot of energy, so definitely needs to be adopted by humans who will put the time in to play with her a lot! With her black and white fur, her fluffy face and white, springy whiskers and eyebrows, she is simply adorable!

Like her sister Ella, Billie was very shy and not used to humans when she arrived at our foster home about two months ago. As a result, she was quite scared of us. But she has improved so much, she is becoming a real snuggle monster and a proper purr machine! She now sleeps on foster mum's bed, she comes when you call her (with a little whistle), she comes to look what you're doing. She jumps up onto the sofa and demands a proper fuss, accompanied by loud purring. You can pick her up very briefly if she is about to roll off your lap to move her to a more secure position!!! She could be in a home with slightly older children, who will give her loads of love and cuddles, but understand that it needs to be on her terms and let her make the first moves.

She has the loudest purr, sings at the birds outside and will make the most wonderful little companion!

You will find the most up to date pictures and videos of Billie on the Foster Cottage's Facebook page. Photos here and videos here.

Billie would like to be adopted with her sister Ella. Billie has been microchipped and has had her first set of vaccines. She will need to be neutered around January 2021.

Ella (F) HC4484

Age: 6 months
Ella is related to Billie

Ella was born on the 9th of July 2020. Ella is Billie's sister.  Our Ella Bella has come so far! Originally the shy one, she was actually the first of the two kittens to come for a fuss and a cuddle. Especially in bed (she will need a family who like having a feline bed mate or two!), she likes to snuggle up and burrows under the duvet, especially now that it is getting colder!  She climbs to the tops of the scratch posts and performs acrobatics on the clothes racks. She likes to play with us, chasing things, likes strings and ribbons and oooooohhh does she love the Christmas tree and the (plastic, luckily kitten proof) baubles. Most of our baubles are no longer on the tree, but she is too cute and funny chasing them around the room to get upset. Little Ella Enchanted provides us with hours of entertainment.

Ella has a beautiful black coat, which is shiny and super soft. When she is lying in the sunshine, you can see her hidden stripes, very striking!

There are still elements of shyness in her, although we are certain she is only going to become more and more confident. You can't pick her up - let her come to you, she will! She loves napping high up, so a little bed on top of a shelf would be perfect. She also loves napping on top of the radiator, roasting cat! She then gets too hot and wobbles over, all sleepy, to a human's lap. Usually purring loudly. If you are sitting quietly, reading or working at your computer, she will come be with you. She is lying next to me as I am typing this.

Ella would not do well in a house with very young children, she's looking for older kids (depending on the child, maybe 8 years and older), who understand how to be gentle and very quiet, or otherwise a grown-ups only household. She loves being played with, though, so make sure you're ready for some feline play time! Ella needs humans who will love her, fuss over her, but also give her the time and space she needs and have the patience to let her come to you instead. Someone who understands what to expect from a sweet, shy kitten.

Up to date videos and photos of Ella can be found on our Foster Cottage Facebook page, do check them out! Photos here and videos here.

Ella would like to be adopted with her sister Billie. Ella has been microchipped and has had her first set of vaccines. She will need to be neutered around January 2021.

Skippy (F) HC4486

Age: 10 months

We probably should have called Skippy Juliet and her boyfriend Hopper Romeo.  They came into our care separately and Skippy had been living outside longer than Hopper  Hopper was the most confident and because Skippy was very timid we thought that putting them together would help her.   This has worked well and Skippy loves to play with Oscar and can match his energy. They love each other and Skippy follows Hopper everywhere.  Skippy still remains a litte wary of humans (unless food is involved) but her confidence has increased dramatically in foster care.

We couldn't bear to part them so Skippy and Hopper must be homed together.  Skippy is the one at the back of the photo.

Skippy is fully vaccinated and micro-chipped

Skippy and Hoper would suit a home with enough space for them to retreat to for naps and would enjoy a secure garden to explore and play in.

Please don't apply to adopt them if you are outside our catchment area or don't have access to a garden

Carlotta (F) HC4498

Age: 22 months

Carlotta or Lottie as her fosterer calls her  is a young long haired female cat. She is very shy and scares easily, but once she knows you she is very, very friendly. She likes to play, she likes to perch herself on high shelves, and she likes to survey her domain though the window. Not so keen on actually going out at the moment because it's cold, wet, windy, and those crows and gulls turn out to be much larger up close

Grooming her is a full time job, but you will be rewarded with a first-class coat, smooth, soft and silky.

She will fare better as the sole pet of a household without children. She can, and will go outside, although that is just running the risk of getting her superb coat dirty. She is quite happy indoors for now but a nice secure little garden to explore in better weather would make her very happy.

Lottie is a little camera shy but she has a pretty face and a very impressive fluffy tail.

She has been spayed and micro-chipped.

Hopper (M) HC4513

Age: 7 months

Hopper is a curious and friendly young cat who oves to play and is looking for a home he can settle down in.   He loves to follow you around the  house calmly, enjoying a good stroke, with an hour or so of energetic playng throughout the day.

We probably should have called Hopper 'Romeo' and his girlfriend Skippy 'Juliet'.  They came into our care separately and  Hopper was paired with Skippy who had spent longer living outside and so was more wary.   So to build her confidence we thought that putting them together would help her and this has worked well.   They love each other and Skippy follows Hopper everywhere.

Hopper and Skippy are neutered and fully vaccinated.  Hopper is the one in the front of the photo.

They would suit a home with enough space for them to retreat for naps and would enjoy a secure garden to explore

We couldn't bear to part them so Hopper and Skippy must be homed together

Please don't apply to adopt them if you are outside our catchment area or don't have access to a garden.

Lily (F) HC4533

Age: 19 months

Lily is a very elegant glossy lady and has been a good mum to her kittens who have all been adopted. She has the loudest purr and lives for fuss and dreamies. Lily is very affectionate, loves to give head nudges and is fond of a tummy rub. She has a secret white patch that she likes to show off.

She is very playful and loves her sardine toys and catnip ball. She loves to play at night, chatting to ghosts and making the cutest battle cries. She’s a very busy lady!

She’s a bit shy to start (before she comes out of her shell) but she makes up for it with fuss and attention after.

Lily will be neutered, started her vaccinations and been micro-chipped before homing.

She will need a home with a private garden

Selkie (F) HC4535

Age: 17 months

This young family were rescued from an abandoned  car in a car park and moved to a foster home at the beginning of November.

Selkie is a sleek, elegant, coal-black young mother of two kittens.  She is thought to be just over a year old and the kittens were estimated to have been born around the beginning of October. Since they have been in their foster home they have settled in, gradually relaxing and coming out of their shells.

Selkie is a very attentive mother to her kittens Archie and Isla.  She has a calm nature, enjoying being stroked and often responding verbally.  She would make a lovely pet where someone would like a quieter but affectionate cat.

Archie is a black and white cutie, the smaller of the two kittens, very energetic, inquisitive and playful.  He is aided in his escapades by his sibling, Isla, whose colouring is black and smoky brown.  She also participates in and enjoys the pranks while having a softer, quieter manner.   You can see more of Archie and Isla in the under 6 months section on the website.

These three gorgeous cats would make a wonderful trio of lovely pets, but Archie and Isla are constant companions and playmates and would be ideally homed as a pair.

Selkie is fully vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped.  Probably best suited to a adult only home.

Buddy (M) HC4541

Age: 16 months

Before coming to live with us, his foster parents, Buddy was part of a stray colony which the charity help looks after. One day, while trying to capture a female cat for spaying, they caught him instead. This is where the path of his life changed.  The charity took him to the vets to check him over and neuter him  before releasing him. While at the vets they discovered that not only was he  a very sociable little boy he had a bad umbilical hernia which needed urgent repair  so the decision was made not to return him to the colony, but to put him up for adoption.

We don’t know if he has ever lived in a domesticated environment, but it’s clear that he loves people and is happy to make friends with any person that wants to fuss him. He came to us without a name, but it became clear within the first few days at home that he needed a name appropriate for his character. He’s the cat who wants to be everyone’s Buddy.

He has settled into his domesticated life well. Within two weeks he already has a chair in the lounge where he likes to spend most of the day being near to us. This way, he can be ready for passing strokes and know when someone might be heading off towards his food bowl should he fancy a few of his kibbles. He loves to be stroked and will usually give you an “I want more” look if you finish before he wants you to.  He likes to rest against you on the sofa while you stroke him, or he will rest against your foot as a substitute. He likes to play with a small mouse toy and loves watching cat TV.

Buddy would suit a home with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children.
He has been vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped.

Binx (M) HC4544

Age: 13 months

Binx was handed into one of our local vets as a supposed stray.  However he is such a friendly boy we think it was probably their own cat.  He is now in a foster home and this is what his fosterers say about him.

Binx is a handsome fluffy black boy.  He's doing well and we really enjoy his company. He's a very chilled cat and quite lazy. He is clean and well behaved, using the scratcher, the litter tray, etc. He doesn't  "talk" much, and he likes some petting, but does not enjoy being held (unless he is very hungry). He plays a bit, he likes the red laser and catnip hidden in a toy, but when he's had enough  flops on the floor.  He will follow you anytime you visit the kitchen; he thinks he might get some food.

He would probably be best suited to an adult home who wants a well behaved and chilled out cat.

Binx has been neutered, micro-chipped and started his vaccinations

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OUR CATCHMENT AREA OR DON'T HAVE A PRIVATE GARDEN
