LAST AMENDED: 25th August 2008 - Please view our Adoption Procedures

(M) BLUEY

2yr little grey/white boy who has been with a new foster carer for about 2 weeks. Before that he was a stray, then fostered in a house where there were other cats who, unfortunatey, bullied him, so he was moved to where he is now. (KH050808/2Y)

Update from new fosterer: This little man has only been with me for two weeks but already he has totally captured my heart. He is the friendliest, most affectionate cat I have ever fostered and I will be sorry to see him go.  However, he does need a garden which I haven't got. Initially Blue took a few days to settle down but considering the circumstances of his short life he took to us quickly and was soon showering us with love and affection.  Purring and gently head butting us for more strokes and more attention. He wants to be in our company all the time, jumping up on the bed and rolling over on his belly so that we can tickle him. He has a very loud purr, which we hear constantly and his meow is more of a squeak than anything else.

Blue is a very gentle boy and would suit a single person, couple or a family with older children as he can get spooked easily. He is ideal for anyone that would like a loving friend and who is prepared to give him the attention that he deserves and make him part of the family. Blue is a good eater and will often do an 'oliver twist on us' (asking for more) when he has finished what's in his bowl. He desperately wants to go out and I would imagine he will spend a fair amount of time outside when he is given the opportunity. (KH050808/2Y)

(F) BLOSSUM

7 months old tortie, really friendly, and quite  vocal. She had kittens with us but they have all been homed now. She is quite petite, with lovely, big, eyes. She is now ready for rehoming. (RHB-JP030408/7M)

Update from foster home: She settled very quickly into my wee place and is a friendly young cat who is looking for attention and some one to play with her. She is certainly an outdoor cat - always looking out the window and chirping at the birds and she needs space to run around and sharpen her claws! Indoors she uses her litter tray and is fine at that, she's also good at telling me when she is hungry or wants a cuddle. She'd make a lovely pet for someone who has a lot of energy and space to play!

New update: I think Blossum would be more settled in a home of her own as she is a real loving lap cat who definately needs to be running and hunting outside a lot.

(F) SPARKY

1yr tabby girl from Hounslow. She came from a family with very lively children and had a litter [all adopted]. She has been spayed recently. She was a little nervous and jumpy at first - understandably due to her background and that she spent 6 weeks in a pen with her babies, and needed to release her pent up energy! At first she was all excited, purring like crazy on foster mum's lap, but also nipped her (pretty hard!) a few times. It is very much a matter of gaining her trust and will stop doing this with time. She is sleeping on her lap now, purring like crazy. (SD030107/1Y)

Update from foster home: Sparky is very sweet, a little nervous (wary of hands and sudden noises-movements) but she is settling in very well. She ADORES laps and no sooner than I am sitting, she comes running on my lap and starts purring. She follows me around the house and does not like to be left alone when she hears people in other rooms. She will be a perfect companion cat for someone who stays at home. She likes to be the *queen* of the house so best as only cat.

She was homed recently but has just returned as her new owner could not cope with her initial biting. Unfortunately what she really needs now is a permanent home without other cats where she can relax with an experienced owner. She has now stopped biting in the foster home - it seems this is only something she does if she is nervous so please don't be put off and give her plenty of time to really settle in!

(F) MINA - 28 weeks old

MINA: 1 X DARK TORTIE FEMALE

A lovely and friendly dark tortie girl. She is extremely cute and very inquisitive, very friendly & very playful. You could not ask for more! (SD260108/DOB240108)

Update: She is the most lovely & inteligent kitten and whoever takes her will be very lucky indeed. She is very  inquisitive, playful, needy, all the most sought after kitten characteristics that anybody could wish for. Hopefully she can find a nice-loving family soon.

(M) BILLY - nicknamed Conan (the Barbarian)

Lovely 10yr black boy nicknamed Conan because he is a very large lad and reminds us of Arnold Schwarzenegger! Like him, he is big (7.1 kilos) and powerful. He is also very friendly and loves his cuddles when it suits him. He prefers 'mini fusses' and then time on his own. He is not really a lap cat but will sit on the floor with you, or on his own chair in the same room. He doesn't like to be picked up but will reciprocate with love when he's stroked. He is also very playful and loves to chase his toy mice! He will be nervous with people he doesn't know, but remembers familiar people and will be affectionate when they come round. He doesn't like sudden noises and can get spooked. He doesn't tend to jump around too much but does still have his mad half hours! (NP030307/10y)

Update: Conan is doing very well. Whilst he likes his own space a lot of the time, he loves playing and having attention and a good fuss. He is very active at times when he does play and he runs around and goes a bit mad as you would expect – he never ceases to make me laugh with his antics. Now that he trusts me his character has come through and although he can be a handful he’s a real delight and very affectionate – he really just wants a safe place to live where he will get lots of love and attention and a friend to play with. Although he’s a big lad, don’t think he’s slow and lazy, it’s the opposite as he’s strong and fast! He’s also very determined when he wants to be. I’ve tried to put him on my lap only once since the last update – he’s just not interested, but he’s happy to rest usually either on his chair or on the bed. He still gets a bit nervous with strangers and loud noises, but if visitors give him a fuss and are friendly he will relax and be friendly in return. He is also still a sporadic eater – he usually prefers to eat when he has company and he doesn’t usually eat that much in one sitting, but I tend to put out a bit of food if I’m out most of the day in case he is hungry along with the dry food – he has sensitivity crunchies which he loves. He must be kept on his sensitivity diet indefinitely on vets advice as he has irritable bowel or something similar (but he still gets a cod treat on weekends). He also eats at night when its peaceful – also he is active at night and on occasion he has woken me up either for food or on the odd occasion he just wants a fuss and to say hello.

Note: Where possible it would be good if any prospective owner could visit to see him prior to any move and I would like to be able to visit him say after the first few days/week after a move to see he is ok and settling in. He’s become a good friend and I hope he finds a really loving new home.

(F) PENNY

12yr friendly black girl - taken in from Greenwood Vets in Chalfont St Peter. She is very nervous of strangers but will become a very loving girl who will happily jump onto laps. Will need a quiet home without children - hopefully with someone around to give her a lap. Not to go with other animals. (GS-A&J-JS010606/12Y)

Update from foster home: "Penny has come on in leaps and bounds since we first got her. She wouldn't move from under the kitchen table for the first few months! However now she greets us when we come in, comes upstairs to sit with us and tries to sleep on the end of the bed when we let her. She loves sitting on our knees and squeaking at us when she wants something. She is still timid and can hiss when feeling threatened but she learns to trust people much quicker now and will sit on friends and family's knees if they are comfy enough for her! Penny needs an understanding home where her timid nature will be accomodated and in return you will get the satisfaction of seeing her become braver and more adventurous as she learns to trust people."

(F) CALLISTA (Callie)

10yr PEDIGREE SEAL POINT BIRMAN. Callie is petite and very beautiful with a lovely silky cream coat & blue eyes. She is a very gentle and delicate girl, she will look up at you adorably when you stroke her. Most days, she just needs a lap to snuggle up on or a cat bed on the radiator, and she will be very happy. She does also like to spend hours on her own sometimes and it is important that she can do this if she wants. She would be OK living mainly indoors but loves her trips out into the garden (only when the weather is nice) - will leap around like a little lamb! She must have a tray indoors. She LOVES to be groomed and does a pretty good job herself. She would like a quiet home with a lady/s to offer her laps and plenty of pampering (stroking/grooming) sessions! It seems she is frightened of men but will be OK with the occassional male visitors and children once settled in a new home. She is living with another cat in her foster home but she would probably prefer to be the one on your lap. No dogs please. (GS151106/10Y)

Callie came to us as a bag of bones and with kidney problems. She has come on in leaps and bounds (literally) in her foster home. Our vet says her kidneys are not bad, and she should now go on to live a normal life expectancy. We are going to be very careful where we place Callie. She has had some history of soiling in the house although we have had no problems in the foster home. Please bear in mind that she does also cough up furballs occassionally (which can be very wet) so if you want your place to remain spotless this could be a problem!

(F) CASSIE

13 month old black and white girl - fluffy - mega friendly with humans but must be only cat! (LR271107/13M)

Update from new foster home: Cassie (now called Millie) is a sweet little long haired black and white cat. She is rather timid and needs lots of reassurance but is steadily growing in confidence. She loves lots of petting but does not like being picked up and is not a lap-cat. Millie can be quite mischievous when the mood takes her! She will benefit from a fairly quiet home with no young children. I think that is Millie in a nutshell.

(M) FLUFFY & (M) FREDDIE

Fluffy: 3 year-old. Stunning! beautiful smokey long- haired cat. Friendly and sociable with other cats- gorgeous big lion-face and mane! (MN-HP260108/3Y)

Freddie: 3 year-old. Possibly Fluffys brother? Friendly and sweet- more suited to a quieter home. (MN-HP260108/3Y)

Update from foster home: These 2 cats are getting on really well. They are both very friendly and love a but of fuss and a good brush. Freddy follows me around everywhere and loves a sunny spot to fall asleep. Fluffy is a more independent boy and likes attention on his own terms, but he is such fun. His favourite place to sit is in front of the mirror looking at himself!! Neither cat is keen on being picked up, but both love to come and sit with you on the sofa for a cuddle. They would suit a quiet home, as the toys bought are largely ignored and they like little fuss. Ideally they should be kept together as they have a strong bond and get on well. If anyone has a warm spot for them to sleep and some time to give them some fuss, they will make and ideal duo as they are so easy to look after and friendly.

(F) PIXIE & (M) GULLIVER

10yr Pixie is tabby and white, and Gulliver is mostly tabby with white bits. They are both friendly large cats and have been living as INDOOR CATS. Owner recently died. (WR250208/10Y)

When this pair arrived they hide together in an airing cupboard for days but they have now come out of their shells. We found out that Gulliver recently (only a month ago) recovered from a major operation to repair one of his hind legs (we were given a vet receipt for nearly £3,000 of treatment!). Our vet thinks it's likely that this kind of smash was likely to have been caused by a car so we wonder if they did infact go out or get out? However, they must have been very much loved and Gulliver's injury has totally healed up. It is not giving him any trouble now. We think these cats should be homed together to a quiet home. They are used to living with a woman.

Update from foster home: Poor Gulliver is getting very frustrated living indoors in the flat. He tends not to use the scratching posts and prefers to use the walls! Pixie is sweet. A big cuddly furry bundle of a cat. She doesn't talk as much as Gulliver. He and I have long conversations. I've no idea what about but they seem to please him. I would like to see them homed as soon as possible where Gulliver can have access to a garden at long last.

(M) HENRI & (M) BLACKIE

(M) SPOT & (M) LOUIS

1yr old male black/white and black kittens - Mix of timid and very timid - making great progress - update and more pics to come shortly. NEUTERED & VACCINATIONS. To go in pairs. (RHB290707/20w)

Updates from foster home:

HENRI - was timid but has come along so well and now will sit still for lots of cuddles and loves to play. Will pair well with Blackie his brother. This boy is so ready for a good home where we know he will blossom and become a wonderful loving friend.

BLACKIE - Henri's brother and he has also come along way since he was found. He is cautious, but very playful and will enjoy a smooch and a pat when he is playing. He will also enjoy a cuddle in his quiter times. He, like Henri is ready to move onto the next stage with a permanent owner who wants to help him blossom!

SPOT has blossomed into a very affectionate and quiet boy. He will wait patiently for pats and affection and would pair very well with his brother Henri or Louis. A very sweet boy! Needs a relatively experienced owner.

LOUIS is also becoming a very sweet and affectionate boy, though he is more playful than his brother Spot. Louis is beoming more and more interested in pats and affection and it is great to watch how he is developing from his very humble beginnings of neglect. Needs a relatively experienced owner to blossom fully.

N.B. THESE CATS ARE NO LONGER IN PENS!

(F) CREAMY - 18 months old

A lovely pale ginger/creamy girl. Very friendly. She came in with 3 families (mother cats & kittens) all from the same house. Her mother was probably ill during her pregnancy and because of this all of her babies had brain damage. Little creamy was very poorly at one point, but unlike her siblings she has rallied and is now fine. She still wobbles a bit due to the brain damage, and for this reason must have a very secure home & garden. She is fine with other cats. (JF020606/1M)

Update from foster home: We still have Creamy! She will be 2 in August. She does still shake a bit at times and she has cateracts in both eyes she is absolutely fine and can manage stairs etc even with her bad eyesight! She cannot be treated for this as with her slight brain damage she cannot be put under anaesthetic. We are still looking for a special home for her.

(F) LILY - Aka Smith

13yr old tortie girl. A very nice and good natured cat who is ok with children. She is also good with other cats - unfortunately her 'other half' recently passed away of a tumour but she may still like to make company with another feline friend. Before they came to HAWS they were taken to our vet to be put to sleep but the vet refused as they were both in good health, and asked if we would take them in. (RHB-D&P070408/13Y)

Update from foster home: A few things about her charming personality: She is very sweet and seems to love to eat.  She's started meowing in the morning if we're too late serving her breakfast.  Not excessively, but just a few meows to let us know she's there and ready to eat! We set up a new bed for her yesterday, which she took to immediately.  It has a cover over it so it's dark, which she likes, though will sleep out in the open if she feels like it.  She can be playful, and likes to chase the feather toy.  I got her some jingling balls yesterday too (we're spoiling her a bit), which she was a bit interested in, but not as much as the feathers.  So far, she doesn't really seem to be a lap cat, though will stay on our laps when we're brushing her, which she really seems to enjoy.  When she gets really happy, she drools quite a bit! She's more than happy to pick her spot and let us come to her and pet her.  She can be skittish - a hand or foot moving too fast will make her jump - but she doesn't really run away most of the time.  She seems to be getting more secure all the time.  She's a good eater, good with the litter tray, and even uses the little scratching toy we have for her.

N.B. THIS CAT IS NO LONGER IN A PEN!

(M) BEN

A very nice 3yr black boy who was found as a stray in Barnes. He should be only cat. Ever so friendly but has been a bit unpredictable with us - he can be all over you and nudge you for affection but then turn round & bite you! We are sure he'll be fine on his own where he has the run of the house (without any dreaded cats to make him nervous!) and to be with someone most of the time. Desperately wants to go out (possibly because he hates the other cats in foster home!) and to come home to you instead! (RHB130408/3Y)

(M) BIG TOM - now called Sylvester

A lovely large 3yr black & white long haired boy - very impressive looking but still very wary - we think he will be fine - it's just that he has been through the wars a bit & he needs a bit of time to settle - just look at his lovely face! He was a stray and used to cover a massive area so new owners should bear this in mind - not to be homed near busy roads! He was just desperate to find a home, bless him and finally found refuge at a house where the lady had adopted from us before & gave us a ring. (RHB-SP190408/3Y)

Update from new foster home: this boy is very friendlyand loves attention. He is quite vocal too. He loves to lick you especially when you are eating. He likes to put his paws on your knee while you're eating. He likes to be picked up but I haven't had him on my lap yet, probably because my other cats want to sit there first and he doesn't like them much. He is very big and very handsome. A very nice natured cat so far. Is best as only cat and would benefit from having some company in the day.

(F) MARMALADE

Marmalade is a six-year old female tortoiseshell and white cat. She has been neutered and previously vaccinated (although these have currently lapsed). She is an affectionate cat with lots of character, who never wanders far, enjoys a lap to sit on and is very vocal. However, while Marmalade enjoys human company, she can be territorial with regards to other cats, and would probably be happiest as the sole cat in a household. She is in perfect health. (WIW290408/6Y)

Gizmo with his tortie sister Rainbow (who has now been homed)

(M) BODIE & (M) DOYLE (aka Shadow & Gizmo) - 10 months

These kittens were very timid to start, but are now friendly and ready for rehoming. They came from a home with 3 adult cats and 12 kittens and not surprisingly the owner couldn't cope! They are both neutered. (JH-Carmel-JF 210807/8-9w)

BODIE is very friendly, full of character and adorable! He is constantly on one of our laps and purrs contentedly, rubbing his face into our hands and licking them like we are part of there litter/family. He loves playing hide and seek under the rug - one will hide and the other will pounce on the rug. He is a real lap cat but full of fun as well and will play with his toys and with his brother.

DOYLE started off as being almost untouchable but after spending a few months in a new foster home he is now quite sociable and is happy playing (even when children are about!). He does like to be stroked and will purr and come up on the sofa but will not come on your lap and doesn't like to be picked up.

They are an inseperable pair and must be homed together. They can be quite independent, loving each other's company - they will follow each other around and chase each other all over the place. They are very playful. They will both be shy at first and will take time to settle but they are gorgeous cats and it's about time they found a good home.

JASMINE (was called ANNA) & 4 KITTENS - 8 months old

Jasmine - black and white Mum - is the most timid - very suspicious of humans but confident with her 4 kittens - could be homed with Theo. None are suitable for children. Referred to in foster home as diddies generation 2 (we have had several from same house). All now neutered. (RHB-TS290907/7w)

Update from foster home: The little black and white boy is like a little puppy and won't let go when you give him a toy! He bounds around the room showing everyone who is boss! He is quite a handful and won't stay still for a minute. Not ready to be picked up yet. The others are much smaller in size. Again they are slightly more friendly than their brother. They love to chase each other around. Should be ok if they are not handled too much as they are still very timid. Can be very entertaining. Work in progress.

THEO: black and white boy

INDIE: the smallest black boy. We thought she was a girl but is definitely a boy! and he (still can't get used to saying he) is the most friendly, and the only one that will let us stroke them, but can't pick up, doesn't like to be approached but once your hand is on her back sorry his he stays still and likes a massage.

The other two black ones are MICA a boy, and ANYA who is a girl. Both very shy but love to play and extremely difficult to tell them apart.

I think if possible putting mum with Theo might be a good idea he is very close to her and i think she'll need one of them, she is very scared and shy, she is very young herself and loves playing like a kitten with them all.

If one had to by themselves if mum is being paired with Theo then it would be best if it was Indie as she enjoys human company more than the others and is emotionally more secure.

(M) LEO & (M) MAX (were callled NIGEL & YODA) - 8 months old

2 x gorgeous but shy brothers. Leo is the ginger & white & Max is black and white. They were trapped in Plough Lane, Wandsworth. A woman had moved away leaving 2 un-neutered females - the other one and her kittens have now been homed as they were more friendly. Not suitable for children. (RHB-JB181107/12-13W)

Update from foster home: They have been here a week, but I have only seen them twice and they are not able to be handled. My guess is that it may be weeks or months before that is the case. Cannot get pix or even put on the collars yet. Will keep you updated, but as far as I can see there is no possibility of them going anywhere for quite some time. I rather think that moving from one foster-home to another puts them back as far as adoption goes, especially if they are nervous cats to begin with. Thought Leo (the ginger/white boy) and Max (white/black) were slightly more sane names for them, as and when they are ready to go.

(M) SYLVESTER

A lovely and quiet black and white boy whose 1st owner died and he was shut in for 3-4 weeks before someone found him. He did find another good home then with someone who got him back to health and had him for about a year before she died too! We hope his next home is 3rd time lucky! He's a lovely boy who is now about 12 yrs old but looks no more than about 9. (LornaLD050508/12y)

(M) JACK - 8 months old

Jack and his siblings were very timid/nervous to start off with but one of them was homed quite quickly and his sister has now just gone herself. Jack is probably the most shy. However he is very playful and a joy to watch even if you can't get too near him at first! He is becoming much more confident with humans and we think that in a quiet, experienced home he will be more friendly. He gets on fine with other cats. (RHB-SP200108/16W)

Update from foster home: Jack is a lot friendlier now since my family came to stay last week. He loved the kids and would come and sleep on their beds or even sit on them! He loves to be stroked and is really playful. If he goes with other cats he will be the one that wakes them all up to play chase. He gets them all going! If you wake up to hear a galloping sound you can be sure Jack's involved! He is the ring leader! He does love other cats. As yet he has not been on my lap but he now sleeps on my bed. He has made such good progress in the last week. When his sister was homed today he ran to hide behind the telly when the people came round but he will be more friendly given time. You just have to give him a chance. He is such a lovely looking cat with amber eyes and a pointed face.

(M) GERRY

Gerry is 15 years old although he doesn't look it and is in very good condition, needing no medication. He is a long haired boy, brown/grey tabby and white and on the large side. Rather more laid back than Tom who he used to live with, he likes to go outside to do his ablusions and have a quick wonder, but is quite happy to sit indoors. He loves being made a fuss of and is also a lap cat. His owner had him vaccinated, fleaed and wormed regularly. Gerry has lived with small dogs in the past. (RHB-M&AF280508/15y)

Update from new foster home: Gerry is settling in very fast. Got onto the sofa and demanded a scratch behind the ears from day one. He is active for his age even playing like a kitten with toys for sort periods every day. Although he obviously likes a spot on the couch best. When he hears any packet rustle you have his full attention as he seems dead set on not missing out any meals. (Even persuading my husband that I forgot to feed him.)

(F) MARNIE

3yr ginger girl who was homed by us a while ago. She had had a collar injury in the past. It seems that this has not been resolved and she is now back with us. She had cage rest when she first came in (hence the photo) but is now much better and in a foster home. She is very affectionate. She has been scared of men in the past, and she can be scared of feet. (RHB-AH300508/3Y)

Update: Marnie was rehomed but returned to us as she had a collar injury under her arm that wouldn't heal.  She has made a lot of progress, although the injury still needs a further couple of stitches and healing time. Marnie is now a very pretty, sweet natured, affectionate and playful little girl and she has settled in very well in her new foster home.  She needs a quiet home where she can relax and enjoy life, preferably with a safe little garden to potter in, when she is completely well.  She is part British shorthair and is quite unusual as she is a female ginger cat.  Please contact us if you have the purrfect forever home for her.

N.B. THIS CAT IS NO LONGER IN A PEN!

(F) NEMO - 9 months

Very timid black and white girl - needs lots of work! We are making some slow progress with him but it will take a long time! She is very good with other cats - has bonded with Jackie (adult tabby & white girl - also very timid). Not really ready for rehoming unless you have plenty of experience with very timid cats! We think he will come round. He is very sweet! (RHB-Carmel07110710W)

Timid black and white girl, very pretty face and beautiful white and black coat - he looks really fabulous now after a rocky start as a little kitten. You can pat her while she is eating but she is not ready to pick up. VERY playful and interested in what is going on around him - great fun with toys. Ready for rehoming for experienced owner. She is very sweet! This little girl was homed recently but resident cat was not at all happy so she is back!

CUPCAKE - 9 months old

1 BLACK FLUFFY KITTEN available. Found in a garden in Southall - 6.5 weeks old - was caught on a fence - possibly trying to escape a fox. He is a little shy at first but is now very friendly when he feels like it! Foster mum says he is DIVINE but definitely NOT for children. He can be both loving and skittish at different times and we think that he would settle down much better in a quieter household. He is incredibly playful and just cannot resist chasing toys (RHB171007/6.5W)

Update from foster home: He's a funny boy - ever so affectionate and will spend whole evenings with me snuggled onto my shoulders or on my chest, but he can equally disappear all day. He is a bit of a bully with other cats and I think he would be best going on his own to 1 person or a couple. He would be fine with owners who are at work in the day. Although slightly shy at first he will sit on visitor's laps in time.

DOYLE - 9 months old

A lovely black male kitten over from Ireland. This gorgeous boy is very confident and loves human company. He does not like other cats and will bully any other male cats in the house. He needs to be homed to a quiet area without access to traffic as he was found playing in the road when he was only 7 weeks old. His over confidence may get him into trouble if let out too early. His owners need to be firm with him as he doesn't always do what he's told! He prefers an open litter tray (will not use a covered one). (JC241107/10W)

Update from foster home: Doyle is a pretty hyperactive little boy who would probably be best going with a slightly older resident cat and to people who will be willing to play with him and keep an eye on him as he will through all caution to the wind! He is very small for his age and could get into all sorts of trouble if left to his own devices! Very naughty but extremely adorable! We would be very worried about leaving him in a garden on his own - at least until/if he ever gets a bit more sensible, but we have been able to take him out onto a balcony under supervision only! It seems that his behaviour is linked to the food he is given. When he is on a sensitivity diet he is a lot calmer. We are currently experimenting with different foods. Would be ok with children over 10 yrs old - he has been known to leap onto you which might scare younger children. With a person on their own he will become your shadow and will be extremely loving.

(F) BIBI

Bibi is young and black. She came in as a very neglected kitty from a houshold where a dog killed kittens before and God only knows how she managed to stay so friendly and trustful. She is mega friendly and will be fine with children. Bibi is still thin and needs to be fed properly to put some more weight. She came easily for affection and if she is going to be given a chance to have a loving home, she will pay double - she is just great!  We are not sure about her age but she is young. (RHB050608/1Y)

Cherry (L) & son Tash (R)

(F) CHERRY

Cherry is a 1yr old friendly black mum. She is rescued from Brentford with her 2 kittens. Both kittens are very friendly. All have been used to living with a large family (6 children including young ones). Mum & kittens all have gorgeous amber eyes. Cherry is speyed and ready for rehoming on her own or with one or both of her kittens. (RHB-SP070608/4M)

TASH: Gorgeous white and black boy with a black 'Hitler' moustache - just like his mum's white one!!
SASHA: Lovely black girl

N.B. THESE CATS ARE NO LONGER IN PENS!

(M) LUKE & (M) JOHN

A ginger & white boy, and his black brother. These two are a bonded pair. Real names to be confirmed once we check the paperwork. Their owner died and they were left outside to fend for themselves. They are very lovely and gentle boys that we have had neutered and blood tested - all ok! They are about 2-3 yrs old. (RHB-SP280508/4y)

NB: THESE CATS ARE NO LONGER IN PENS!

(M) LUNAR

This large 4-5 yr semi-long haired boy was found living as a stray. He looks like an Asian based breed called a Tiffanie. He is a talkative, very very loving cat with huge paws and the cream/silver/black look of a wolf about his colouring. He is very skinny under all that fur, which he does a good job of keeping under control himself but he loves being brushed. Craves attention. (LC-LP070708/2Y)

Update from foster home: Lunar has been with us for a couple of weeks and was very anxious and timid at the beginning but he is now very confident around us. He is very unique and extremely loving. He likes a lot of human contact and enjoys following us around the house, meowing a lot.  He also adores curling up on your lap, nuzzling his face against yours, having a cuddle or just being close to you.  Lunar has a habit of kneeding his strong front paws all over you just before he settles down, but he listens to a simple no if this gets too much. That said he sometimes actually likes to be left on his own at times.

He has had a few sores on his body which are healing very well. Other than that he is healthy. He just needs plenty of attention and affection and to go to a quiet home without children, and perhaps more than one person. He could possibly be homed with another cat.

(F) AMBER

Lovely and friendly girl of about 1yr old. An update is coming soon. (RHB-HW180708/1Y)

N.B. THIS CAT IS NO LONGER IN A PEN

(F) ROE

Roe and her 2 kittens were found living in the bushes for some time - unfortunately they didn't survive but she is now speyed and ready for rehoming. She is really friendly and ready for any strokes:) Age tbc (young) (RHB180708/1y)

Black Mum

(F) JET BLACK MOTHER

Mother is jet black, fairly friendly, very pretty, and less than a year old we think. She wandered into a garden shed about 5/6 weeks ago and gave birth. We do not know where she came from as she doesn't have a collar. She will be ready to go once she has been speyed and her kittens are old enough to leave her. Photos and descriptions to come. (RHB-AS050808/6W) Ready for rehoming from 19th-26th Aug

Update from foster home: Mum is black, very sleek, with gorgeous striking yellow eyes - although she always closes them for photos!! She is very friendly, headbutts everything trying to get attention (including when topping up her food bowl when she knocks the food everywhere!!) She doesn't like being picked up at the moment but will rub all over you, purring louder than a motorbike and is not aggressive at all. She is a very attentive mother and is certainly less than a year old.

These are our FIV's and are ideal INDOOR cats:

We don't have any FIVs on our rehoming list at the moment.

(M) BLUE

(M) CHARLIE

Rescued from one of London's toughest council estates, where teenagers were setting their pit bulls onto him, Charley was saved thanks to the kindness of a local resident. His delightfully friendly disposition has in no way been damaged by his traumatic experiences and he is an extremely friendly young man (18 - 24 months old) who loves to be around people and will follow you from room to room. The only time he's happier than when snuggled up with his foster parents on the sofa, is when he's snuggled up between them in bed! Well mannered and quick to learn (not to climb on the cockatiel's cage for example!) he enjoys company and would like a home with soft places to sleep, and lots of cuddles. Microchipped, neutered and with his first set of vaccinations already on board, Charley is ready and waiting to go to his new forever home. Is that yours?.(RHB-TD100808/18m-2y)

Update from foster home: "Now that Charley has settled in, he's showing his foster parents his rather more inquistive and playful side by leaping around the apartment for a couple of hours a night, and enthusiastically chasing feet under the blankets at bedtime!!  His nickname in the evening's is now "The Hooligan" and in addition to soft places and snuggles, he'll do best with a garden to run around in.  He adores being picked up and smooched, which he rewards with big, happy purrs, he's a real character and a joy to have around, he'll make his new owners fall in love with him - just as his foster parents have!"

EMILY

Black and white Mother to 3 x kittens. Only 11 months herself, Emily was given to an elderly lady by a relative who mistakenly (or irresponsibly!) said she had been spayed. Needless to say, the inevitable happened, Emily had her kittens and, unfortunately, the elderly lady just couldn’t cope with them all. (RHB-HG100808/9W)

Update from foster home: Emily is a lovely, gentle, graceful young lady with a calm disposition, soft velvety coat and huge loving green eyes (much prettier than the photo - none of our photos does her justice!). She has been a fantastic mother to her 3 kittens, watching over them almost constantly, cleaning them, talking to them in a variety of voices, and occasionally telling them off when they’re up to mischief! Although still a loving Mum to her kittens, Emily is starting to enjoy time with us on her own, purring readily when petted and cuddled - and enjoying her own ‘me-time’, a break from her demanding babies! Emily has started to play - when she gets a look-in on the toys from the rest of the gang - and she loves her scratching post. Ideally, she'd get to go home with one of her kittens but would make a great solo cat as well. Such a gentle creature deserves a safe and loving home where she can live out the rest of her life in peace and contentment. Emily will bring as much happiness to her new owners as they will to her.

(F) SMALL BLUE

Very friendly small grey girl. She is around a year old. She had kittens with us but they have now been homed and she has been speyed so is ready to go. (RHB-PT-P&C270608/1Y & 9W)

Update from new foster home: Blue the mum is so docile - nothing phases her - she is so easy going but really wants to go outside.

(F) SONIA

Sonia and her kittens are pretty docile and friendly, will be ok with a family. Mum Sonia is around 1 year and very friendly. Kittens are around 16 weeks and are listed in the kitten section below. Mum is now speyed and ready for rehoming. (RHB140808/1Y)

This pic shows Bea as a kitten (when we last rehomed her). We are waiting for a current photo.

(F) BEA

3 yr old black and white 'Felix' looking girl. Bea is a sweet, timid cat who requires gentle handling. She loves to be groomed and stroked. She enjoys a quiet life, with access to the outside. She is being rehomed as the current owner feels she would fair better as an only cat in a quieter household and she finds living with a dog very difficult." We think a very quiet one or two adult owner house would work, not an open plan house so that Bea has plenty of places to feel secure. (WIWvia EmilyM)

Bea was originally a HAWS kitten and was homed with her sister. She is clearly stressed in her home as she has not settled with the dog and is not happy living with her sister. She must be the only pet.

(F) TALLY

Tally is a gorgeous cat - a small, black, shorthair moggy, very neat and petite. She's 16 but you would never know it as she's full of beans, still plays like a kitten (loves chasing games and still chases her tail), and is in fantastic health. She's absolutely fine and her fur is really healthy and glossy. She's been a house cat all her life and is very friendly with people; she's really calm, loves snuggling up on the sofa in the evening and happily sleeps on the bed. The reason for re-homing her is that owner's children are now 6, 4 and 2 and she seems increasingly stressed by the growing noise and activity in the house. She doesn't seem happy with them any more, and would probably be much more content in a quieter house. (WIWviaFran)

(F) TILLY

Tilly is about 11 months old, tabby, long haired. She is very sweet. Her 3 kittens have now been homed and she is speyed and ready to go. Their owner had an illness, and they kept getting under her feet making her fall over so for safety sake they had to go. Tilly is a bit shy at first but is now really friendly and gorgeous. She will need a garden. (RHB060808/11M)

(M) CASEY - age tbc - I think you can tell from the my video!

Hi! My name is Casey and I am a superkitty:) I am pretty, playful, dead cute and I am totally up for adoption. Unfortunately I had to be rehomed due to allergy in the family, where I found my first home. Please have a look at my picture and my video and think carefully: am I the purrrfect kitten or am I the purrrfect kitten? I like families and responsible children.

Cherry (L) & Tash (R)

Sasha

CHERRY'S KITTENS: (M) TASH & (F) SASHA - 2 x 25 weeks old

Cherry is a 1yr old friendly black mum. She is rescued from Brentford with her 2 kittens. Both kittens are very friendly. All have been used to living with a large family (6 children including young ones). All kittens have gorgeous amber eyes. (RHB-SP070608/4M)

TASH: Gorgeous white and black boy with a black 'Hitler' moustache - just like his mum's white one!!
SASHA: Lovely black girl

N.B. THESE CATS ARE NO LONGER IN A PEN

(M) BORIS, (M) BILLY, (F) MABEL & (F) LILY-MAY, 22 week fluffy kittens

Boris is black, Billy black with boots , Mabel is tortie and Lily-May is the 'cross-patch looking' tortie with boots - all fluffy - from Southall - becoming very friendly now. (RC-RL090508/8-9W)

Update from foster home: All these kittens are friendly, and very good with big cats. They love to be stroked and are getting cuddlier by the minute!

MABEL - Tortie Girl. Tiny little endearing scrap of a girl who shouts for love with her sweet half ginger face scrunching up. Real mummys girl. Will traipse from room to room in order to climb into any available lap.

LILY-MAY - Tortie in Boots.  Funny tortie marks on her face giving her a very attractive devilish expression and a slight catch me if you can attitude - believe the fact that she is in fact desperate for a cuddle and if possible, a game. She is quite chatty like her sister.

BORIS, the black boy. Scrumptious fuzzy ROUND kitten that seems to be boneless and entirely made of round shapes, round head, round tummy, saucer eyes. Very affectionate. Dislikes newspapers and texting and will attempt to distract one from both. Laps a given. He like his brother Billy is out going, gregarious and intrepid.

BILLY - Black boy with white bits. Beautiful kitten with long white whiskers and eyebrows , paws, perfectly placed figleaf, beautiful eyes and loving temperament. Wants to sit on lap and gaze lovingly into ones eyes. Loves to talk and is very outgoing.

(F) FUDGE - 22 weeks old

Fudge & her siblings (now homed) were found in a very posh road in Chiswick after her Mum set up residence in a Palace of a Shed! She was a bit shy at first but is now very friendly. (RHB-LA-RC290308/2.5W)

FUDGE - TORTIE female - very, very active - fun, fun fun!!

Update from foster home: My 2 boys have gone and I have still have Smudge, the tortie girl with white boots. Very girly pretty girl who seems happier without the boys and might be good single cat though she gets on fine with my big cats who are saints anyway. She loves her toys and plays fetch. She will chase one toy while carrying another. VERY snuggly, kisses on face, lies on my feet at night.

(M) CHICO & (M) PACO - 20 weeks old

These gorgeous boys are on UTube!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uZg2v7Lx4Q

A stunning and beautiful 18m long haired tabby & white Mother with 4 gorgeous 'chocolate box' kittens. They were found in a garden when a family came back from holiday. They were squashed in a 6" gap between a wall and their new kitchen extension! This family did however manage to socialise the kittens well and 2 are already snapped up! All kittens are semi long haired. (RHB050508/6W)

CHICO: x BLACK & WHITE boy
PACO: 1 X MACKERAL TABBY boy

Update from foster home: These kittens are to die for :)

Chico - is a happy little chap, who loves to play. He is a bit shy, but loves to cuddle next to me and loves the strokes and on top of the list are tummy rubs done by brushing with a comb. He is adorable when he sleeps - just look at the picture! He gained so much confidence since he is with us! He became even more cheeky and joyful. He is like "a happy pill cat". I love him to bits:)

Paco - shy kitten, who is not so shy anymore! He will never be a lap cat, but he can be stoked or picked up and as his brother he likes tummy rubs. He still jumps when he hears noises and tends to keep his safe distance, but at the same time he is very social and always stays close to us. He is a playful, happy kitten - he is a great chaser and loves to carry little toys in his mouth. He has longish fur, which is the softest I ever stroked (and I stroke many!) - and as he gets older he becomes even more handsome!

Both boys can do together or separately, but if possible I would love to find home for both of them as Paco does not really like to be on his own. Not for young children though.

These gorgeous boys are on UTube!

BRANSTON & PICKLE - 17 weeks old

A black and a black with white bits! Very friendly pair. (RHB-LC200708/14W)

Update from foster home: These brothers appear to have some oriental blood in them making them very handsome and poised. Branston is all black with gorgeous eyes, very confident and very loving with a loud purr. Pickle has some white splodges, including a white tip to his otherwise black tail, also loves attention and is picking up some over-active playing habits and is learning to miouw from an unrelated younger kitten who won’t leave his white tipped tail alone! Pickle also likes being picked up, turned on his back and having his tummy tickled. Can go separately or together.

(M) TITCH (Bibi's black kitten)- 16 weeks old

Bibi and her kittens came in as a very neglected kitty from a houshold where a dog. Although very friendly they are probably not suitable for a home with young children. (RHB-HS 050608/6W)

TITCH (one of the black kittens is the only one neft now:

"Titch is the one of three siblings, two of which have already been homed. He is a small cat with big ears and a lovely long tail. He is black all over with no other markings. Titch is a very cuddly cat and like to be stroked a lot. He tries to snuggle up to you wherever you are and purrs constantly. He loves to play and can be very lively. Although he adores affection there is no problem with leaving him home during the day if you work as he will amuse himself or just sleep. Titch will be ok with children and other cats however he can show timidness around new or lots people. Please give this beautiful cat a home - he will be very loving."

N.B. THESE KITTENS ARE NO LONGER IN A PEN

SONIA's KITTENS - only the black and white left - 16 weeks old

Sonia's kittens are pretty, docile and friendly, will be ok with a family. Kittens are around 16 weeks old and are: 1 black with white paws, not sexed yet. This photo and description was taken while they were still in transit to foster home. They were found residing in a car in a garden in Southall. We should have an update soon. (RHB140808/16W)

(F) ZOE & (F) ZARA

2 tabby sisters, who disliked each other at first but seem ok now. They are around 15 weeks. Found in the garden, but really social and desperate for attention, They would prefer to have all to themselves! They can go together or separately. This is Zoe but Zara looked just like her. (RHB140808/15W)

(F) SILVIE & (F) PEANUT (aka Manolo & Xenia) - 15 weeks old

Their mum Sandy was an a cross oriental tabby, around 18 months old. She has now been homed. (RHB-KD260608/18m & 8W)

Update from foster home: Sylvie is the Black & White little girl. As all kittens she is exceptionaly cute! Quite confident and independant, she can always find something to entertain herself with!, but will still tolerate lots of kisses & cuddles before wanting to go off and play again. Think she would be great with children as is quite bombproof!

Peanut is the tabby, again very cute! Slightly more nervous than Sylvie & was quite reliant on Mummy who has now been rehomed. She still chirrups for her but seems easily comforted with a bit of attention from us, she especially seems to respond when you talk to her and will chirrup back. Again will tolerate kisses & cuddles but is quite timid (would advise against a home with children), so the more physical contact you can give her the better as this all helps to reassure her. Both need homes asap so that you can fully enjoy them still as playful kittens, and so that they can each have the full attention that they deserve.

N.B. THESE KITTENS ARE NO LONGER IN A PEN

Pancho
Peggy

Pootch

(M) PEACHES' kittens: PANCHO, POOTCH & PEGGY- 14 weeks

Pootch - pale ginger boy
Kittens are around 10 weeks (RHB270608/18M & 10W)

(F) ELLIE & (F) KIMBERLY- 14 weeks

These little girls are sisters of the kitten (below and on our home page) who had both her back legs broken. They are both little and so sweet and becoming very friendly - shy to start. (RHB-HG180708/10W)

Update: Beautiful sisters, still currently very shy. Now enjoying cuddles (both have a very loud purr) and starting to play with us but will still run away and hide when out of their puppy pen, when approached

Thank you everyone for the suggested names. The winning name is Zuri. There is still time though to make a donation towards her treatment.

(F) ZURI: Ellie & Kimberly's sister - 14 weeks

This adorable kitten was found by one of our volunteers at 10 weeks old with both back legs broken and a fractured hip. She also had badly infected bite wounds with injuries estimated to be at least 3 days old and by then a severe infection had set in. We feared the worst but she is a fighter - the operation to repair her shattered legs has been a success and the infection is subsiding. She is still "in hospital" but doing very well. Her medical bills are going to be high, even with discount for the charity, but we have to be true to our principle of non-destruction unless advised otherwise. She is proof that our ethos is right. (CA180708/10W)

Our heartfelt thanks go to Richard Bleckman of Roehampton Veterinary Clinic for saving her life

UPDATE 2nd August: HERE SHE IS, our special girl is out of hospital and what a little sweetheart she is. She's incredibly affectionate, loves her cuddles, her fleecy blanket and purrs like a little engine. Bright, alert and happy. In the past week, she's learned to play, and more importantly wind her foster parents around her little paws so they respond to her every whim.

Watch this space for a further update after her check-up next week and again,
a huge thank you to everyone who has donated towards her vet bill - we have raised more than half of the cost of her treatment, but there is still a long way to go.

Update 5th August: Our little girl has been for her first check up since leaving hospital.  It's good news - Richard Bleckman is very pleased with her progress and the strength in her back legs.  He's removed all the stitches from the various bite wounds which are completely healed.   Her rear end looked a bit like a hedgehog with bits of blue nylon thread sticking up which were beginning to annoy her.   She seems very pleased to be rid of them and had a good grooming session as soon as she got home.    She'll  go back in two weeks time for an X ray to check on the progress of the fractures. All we have to do for the time being is keep her amused with an endless supply of toys and  provide playtime and cuddles on demand, which if she had her way would be any time except when she's eating and sleeping.

(M) TUX - 11 weeks old

Male, 8 weeks old, 11/07/08. This black and white boy looks like he is wearing a tuxedo one size too small, hence his name. He’s very playful, loves falling asleep on the nearest lap and has learnt to play “fetch” with his favourite mouse toy already! He’s a friendly little chap who sent an instant message to one of my friends all by himself by walking across my keyboard when I wasn’t looking. (LC110708/8W)

RSPCA kittens - 10 weeks old

2 litters of kittens: all black and white, they are not sexed yet, except Frontman, who is the most inquisitive and funny and always at the front of the pack:)) He is on the left hand side, at the front. They are around 7 weeks. (RHB180708/7W)

Unfortunately the little black got poorly so now there are only 6.

GINGER & CALICO TORTIE pair of kittens - names tbc - 10 weeks

They are both mega friendly and will be suitable for homing in a family with children. They are very nice kittens. Update to come soon. They have had their first vacc. (RHB-LR230808/10W)

(M) JASPER, (F) ROXIE & (F) DIXIE - 9 weeks

All friendly. They came from an elderly lady who had recently adopted the mother, not realising that she hadn't been speyed. (RHB-HG100808/9W)

2 x female, and 1 x male - all black and white

JASPER -  White and black male in sink
ROXY - Black and white female white ring around neck (with sister)
Dixie - Black and white female (with sister)

Update from foster home:
Dixie & Roxy Two adorable kittens with attitude, these cute little sisters would grace any home. Both black with white tummies, they are virtually identical except that Dixie has a fine collar in white, whereas Roxy’s stops at her shoulders. They love to explore their surrounds, will play forever and love cuddles, when they‘ve done with playing and are ready for a nap! As the bathroom is their ‘home’ (with an open door!), the love playing in the sink and bath, without the water! Dixie and Roxy love their brother, Jasper, and Mum Emily as much as they love each other and would be very happy to go to their new home in any family combination and, as their confidence grows, on their own.
Jasper, As you can see, Jasper is absolutely gorgeous and cheeky with it. He was very timid when he first came to us but is now the bravest of the bunch, yet still very gentle. Like his sisters, Jasper likes to explore, plays forever (with us and with his sisters and Mum) and loves cuddles. He has also tried to make friends with our other foster kittens. He has been with us nearly 2 weeks now, his confidence continues to grow and is very nearly for his forever home. .

They're also used to other cats and to my cat-friendly dog.

(M) LITTLE CHAP - 8 week old black with white boy

Little chap dropped into our vets at approx 8/9 weeks.  He is mostly white with black patches.  Very relaxed and chilled out little boy. He is gorgeous and will be ideal for a family with children. He was unwanted by owners who had only had him a week. A kind vet nurse has taken him home for the weekend but then we need to find a space for him. (RHB100808/8W)

(F) TABITHA (SANDY TABBY) - & her kitten, KEA - 6 weeks old

Lovely 1yr tabby mum with her tabby kitten. Mum was found left behind and pregnant by her owner who was also pregnant! She is very friendly and kittens is being very well socialised. Kea had a little ginger brother but unfortunately he died. She however now has all the milk to herself and is becoming a really round bouncy kitten! We would like them to go as a pair if poss. Both are mega friendly lap cats. (RHB-Larraine040708/3D) Ready for rehoming from 26th Aug- 2nd Sept

Black Mum

2 tortie kittens

(F) Black Mother & 2 x 6 week old tortie kittens

Mother is jet black, fairly friendly, very pretty, and less than a year old we think. The kittens are a pair of dark torties. The mother wandered into a garden shed about 5/6 weeks ago and gave birth. We do not know where she came from as she doesn't have a collar. The young woman's daughter was feeding them in the shed so they are used to people. Photos and descriptions to come. (RHB-AS050808/6W) Ready for rehoming from 19th-26th Aug

Update from foster home: The kittens are 2 tortie girls, both very dark and very brave!! The smaller of the 2 has a ginger patch on her face while her sister is very dark all over. The darker one is a little bit braver and likes to climb up the outside of their igloo bed before jumping off the top!
